Solution: Write out your specific goals and post them in a place you see regularly. Do not make them
all weight-based. Think about the steps you need to complete to get you to your long-term goal.
Not Enough Time: Whether it’s shuffling kids from soccer to dance or working long hours – life can be tough to balance. When it comes to successfully losing weight there are a myriad of reasons that pop up as to why we can’t.
Solution: Write it down and schedule it! Be realistic and determine when you are most likely to do it as
well. Do the same with your meals. Weight loss will not happen if it is not a priority, therefore, requires
Too Much Stress: There is a link between our stress level and ability to lose weight. Under long-term stress the body creates more cortisol which is linked to blood sugar imbalance and weight gain. The more stressed a person is, the more cortisol the body produces. The longer the stress continues the more pronounced the effect the hormone has on weight.
Solution: Identify ways to reduce stress effectively. While you may not be able to change your work
setting, or pull your kids out of all their after school activities is it possible to change the way you
respond to stress. Another way to reduce cortisol levels in the body is to get adequate sleep. During
sleep the body goes to work repairing itself from the day and decrease cortisol levels in the body.
Whatever is holding you back, identify it and deal with it now! The longer you put it off the more you delay a healthier you.
